Multidisciplinary Care of the Patient with Craniofacial Anomalies
This 2010 ACPA Pre-Conference program, jointly sponsored with the American Society of Craniofacial Surgery (ASCFS), is designed to be a broad-based series of presentations that range from clinical care to research topics. Examples of topics include the history of craniofacial surgery as well as current techniques and complications; neurosurgical issues; genetics; medical concerns; brain structure and function; speech concerns; orthodontic care; and research in craniofacial anomalies. The target audience includes all health care providers associated with the care of craniofacial patients as well as researchers interested in either basic aspects (genetics, pathoetiology) or clinical research (efficacy of treatment options, outcomes, services).
Attendees will have a comprehensive, yet introductory level exposure to all aspects germane to craniofacial anomalies and will gain appreciation of the challenge for multidisciplinary approaches to both clinical and research aspects of this field.
